In 1980 Sara Sackner, fresh from having graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York City, began a term of work in Tom Phillips' studio. At that time the central focus of everyone at 57 Talfourd Road was the fine press edition of DANTE'S INFERNO.
As well as assisting with all facets of the production, Sara used her camera to document her time in the studio. Looking back on her weeks in Peckham she says, "It was an incredible experience to go straight out of art school and into the world of a working artist's life."
