Minsky on the Rocks refers (as does the previous image of Richard Minsky [in the 1989 NPG exhibition]) to his own self-portraiture, in this case to a reclining nude photo in the manner of Michelangelo (if that was the waiter's name). Richard and I have collaborated on many book projects, notably my Dante-derived I drove my big Mercedes from Stuttgart down to Hades done in association with the ever helpful printers at Staib u. Mayer who have also printed this [the 1989 NPG] catalogue.
