We Are the People, RA Summer Exhibition 2002

A preview of Tom's 2004 exhibition "We Are the People" appeared two years prior to its opening at the National Portrait Gallery.

At the Royal Academy's 234th Summer Exhibition, June 2002, Tom exhibited four prints with subject matter culled from his vast collection of picture postcards.

He has used this method in the past, but this interpretation took a more literal path, with captivating results.

All four images went on to be included in the NPG exhibition in 2004.

CLICK HERE for an audio interview with the artist (mp3 format, 4.2 Mb, 2:58), produced by the Royal Academy for the Summer Exhibition, 2002.

A transcription will be uploaded to this website at a later date.
