Collage

Most recent collages have either been based on crosses or on the musical stave, usually using fragments of a very battered old set of wartime Picture Post magazines.

The occasional series of homages to composers (started in 1978) made a recent short spurt with four additions. Roughly the proportion of a television screen, their bordered format gave rise to the frame-within-a-frame schema that characterises A TV Dante which I directed with Peter Greenaway in the 1980s.

Drawing to a Conclusion (1997),  p. 21.
